Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming neighborhood located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. Many people who don't know the name mistakenly believe that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually, this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often cited, however her short visit to the West Island was not. Brugel was raised on Courtice just outside Oshawa within Ontario. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. But, a growing rate increased her height and she outgrew all of the dance partners she had. A Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. When I outgrew my male companions, I quit. Many dancers make the transition to acting. As for the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her into this path. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the annual school production. She was the teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the school's annual production. She was awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program and graduated at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Through the years that followed, Brugel has been offered roles in over 60 shows on both small and large screens, attracting the greatest media attention after she was offered the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the only Canadian actor during Season 1 of the show and was only appeared on occasion.
